All new staff at Portal House School will have been appointed following formal interviews. During this process they will have toured the School, met key people, received information about their job, and met the children.
When new staff take up appointments they will receive contracts prepared by the Authority which set out their terms and conditions of employment. All new staff will receive the following from the School:

If circumstances permit, new Teachers will work closely with an experienced member of the teaching staff, and will be supported in class by other experienced members of staff.
